Frequently Asked Questions

On our homepage you will find the registration button "Register online" as soon as the registration phase of the respective examination round begins. The dates will be communicated online.

You can register for the Swiss Federal Professional Examination if you hold the required Leadership and Management Certificates and the other admission criteria in accordance with the Examination Regulations (Art. 3.3). The documents (in German, French and Italian) can be found under Downloads.

If you are registering for the SALT examination for the first time, you will not receive the registration number until after you register. You will find it on your invoice, which you will receive by post a few days after you register. This number is assigned to you personally and will accompany you throughout your examination period. Please keep it in a safe place.

The e-mail may be in your spam folder. If not, please re-register.

In order to ensure the orderly flow of the examination  process, we are unable to take account of candidates' preferences.

The testing site for the professional examinations will be communicated to you after you register for the examination. The oral professional examination is expected to be held in Pfäffikon/SZ (German), Yverdon-les-Bains (French) and Giubiasco (Italian). The written professional examination is expected to be held in Bern.

The testing site for the module examinations for the Leadership and Management Certificates will be communicated to you after you register. The oral and written examinations are expected to be held in Pfäffikon/SZ (German), Yverdon-les-Bains and Bern (French) and Giubiasco (Italian).

You will receive the examination details in the form of a written notice by post approximately six weeks after the registration deadline. We cannot provide you with any information in advance.

Subsequent registration for the examinations after the 4-week registration period has expired is not possible.

Please inform us at your earliest convenience by e-mail that you will not be taking part in the examination. Detailed information about withdrawing an application can be found in the document “General Terms and Conditions for Module Examinations” (in German, French and Italian) under Downloads.

You can revise your report based on the feedback received and submit it again at the next examination. However, you are free to rewrite the whole report.

Once the results of the exams have been announced, you may order copies of the exams. Copies cost CHF 50.00 per examination.

Module examinations: Information can be found in the document “Guideline on Module Examinations". You will find both documents in German, French and Italian under Downloads.

For privacy reasons, we are not allowed to provide information on test results by telephone.

You will receive the test results in writing by post approximately 6 weeks after the examination session.

You can easily re-register online for the desired examination notification using your registration number. The module examinations may be repeated as often as desired.

You can submit the invoices for your courses and examinations to the SERI only after you have taken the Federal Professional Examination. Further information on this can be found directly on the SERI Homepage.

The Management Module Certificates are valid for five 5 years. The Leadership Module Certificates are valid for eight 8 years.

We will re-issue your module certificates and attestations for a fee of CHF 30.00 Send us an e-mail with your personal details and your registration number. You will receive an invoice from us, and as soon as the payment has been received in our account, you will receive your new documents by post.

You can order the certificates in English from us via email. Please provide your personal details and your registration number. The fee is CHF 75.00 per certificate.

For a fee, a diploma supplement may be requested from the SERI at a later date. The instructions and the application form in German, French and Italian can be found under Downloads.
